From your first text to a founder's reply.
Backdoor does the searching, the writing and the chasing. You say yes to each email.
How it works
No forms, no job boards, no new app. Just a chat.
Tell it about you
Send your LinkedIn, resume or a voice note. Backdoor researches your background and asks what you want next.
It finds startups every morning
Every morning it picks startups that fit you, from fresh funding, launch and hiring news.
It writes to the founder
It finds the founder's email and drafts a note about why you fit them.
You tap send. It follows up.
Emails go from your Gmail, and Backdoor follows up in the same thread until someone replies.
Know the moment they reply
You get a text as soon as a founder replies, and the full reply in your inbox.
Your whole search, in one place
Ask how it's going anytime, or see every lead and reply on your dashboard.
Step by step.
- 1
You say hi
On WhatsApp or iMessage, no app and no form. Send your LinkedIn, your resume or a voice note, and say what you want next: the role, the kind of startup, where.
- 2
It reads up on you
Backdoor researches your background from what you sent and the public web, Anything you correct ("2 years, not 4") is saved and used in every email after.
- 3
You see your first matches, free
A demo search shows startups that fit you and a sample email to one founder, so you can judge the writing before you pay anything.
- 4
It picks startups every morning
From fresh funding, launch and hiring news. Before it writes, it checks each company against what you said you won't do, whether it could take on someone where you live, and whether there's work there you could plausibly do. A posted role is never required.
- 5
It finds the person who decides
The founder's or hiring manager's own address when a public page prints it, or the company's founders, hiring or general inbox. It never guesses an address from a name pattern. When it finds none, it tells you, and you can give it one.
- 6
It drafts a short note, and waits
About why you fit that one startup, in your voice. Nothing goes out until you reply SEND. Say EDIT to change it or SKIP to pass; a rule you give once, like a sign-off or "never mention crypto", holds for every email after.
- 7
It sends from your Gmail
Connecting Gmail is optional, and it's how emails go out: from your own address, so replies land in your inbox. Up to 10 new founders a day, or up to 20 if you ask.
- 8
It follows up, then stops
Three follow-ups in the same thread, 3, 4, 5 days apart. They stop the moment anyone replies, including a no, and if you write in the thread yourself, the thread is yours.
- 9
It tells you when they reply
A text as soon as a founder answers, with the full reply in your inbox. If an address bounces, Backdoor finds the next contact and asks before it writes again.
Two ways in.
Go after the startups you want. Get introduced to the ones looking for you.
You reach out
Backdoor finds startups that fit you every morning, writes to the founder and follows up. You just tap send.
We introduce you
Our partner startups are hand-picked and backed by top-tier VCs. When one is hiring for someone like you, we introduce you to the founder. Nothing to ask for.
How long it takes.
9 in 10 people who heard back got their first founder reply within two weeks of their first email, and 3 in 10 replies came after a follow-up. See the research

Questions, answered.
No. It isn't a job application: no form is filled in and no posted role is needed. It writes a short note to the person who hires.
No. Every first email waits for your SEND. Follow-ups only continue threads you approved, and you can stop them anytime.
No. It reads your public profile to learn about you and sends email from your Gmail. It never logs in to LinkedIn.
Backdoor still researches you, finds startups and writes the drafts. It can't send them until Gmail is connected, and it tells you so when you approve one.
Tell it. You can cancel follow-ups, ask for no offers or reminders, or delete everything in one tap.
